India's largest airline IndiGo has announced an increase in fuel surcharges across its domestic and international flights, effective October 6, pushing airfares higher. Domestic surcharges will increase by Rs 100 to Rs 350, reaching up to Rs 1,300 for flights exceeding 2,000 kilometres. International surcharges range from Rs 1,000 for SAARC routes to Rs 10,000 for Europe flights. The airline cited a month-on-month surge of over 14 percent in aviation turbine fuel prices, driven by Middle East geopolitical tensions, marking its second fuel surcharge increase since April.
