German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies AG has agreed to acquire Bengaluru-based startup C2i Semiconductors to enhance its power management capabilities for AI data centres. Backed by Peak XV Partners, C2i was founded in 2024 by Vikram Gakhar, Preetam Charan Anand Tadeparthy, and Ramprasad Ananthaswamy. The startup develops software-defined multiphase controllers and smart power stages that regulate energy distribution for demanding AI processors. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026. The acquisition highlights the increasing global strategic value of Indian semiconductor engineering talent.
