US-based AI services company Innodata has laid off approximately 550 employees in India, representing nearly 5% of its global workforce. According to internal termination communications, the job cuts were driven by a ramp-down of a major business assignment rather than individual performance evaluations. Affected staff members reportedly lost system and email access abruptly during the workday on October 26, receiving severance notices via personal email. Innodata, which provides data engineering and AI training services, also conducted layoffs in the Philippines. The company is processing full settlements via demand drafts upon asset return.
