The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has denied reports that the agency is being privatised or that its role is diminishing. Issuing a clarification following concerns raised by employee associations, ISRO stated that transferring mature rocket and satellite production to private players will allow scientists to focus on advanced research, deep space exploration, and strategic missions. The clarification follows remarks on private sector integration by IN-SPACe chairman Pawan Goenka. ISRO reiterated that it remains the anchor institution for national space exploration while private firms scale commercial launch and manufacturing operations across India.
