ISRO Successfully Launches First Geo-Orbit Earth Observation Satellite EOS-05

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the country's first geo-orbit imaging satellite, EOS-05, aboard a GSLV rocket from Sriharikota. Weighing over 2,300 kg, the satellite is the heaviest payload ever carried by a GSLV launcher, achieving orbit approximately 18 minutes after lift-off. Operating at a geosynchronous altitude of roughly 36,000 km, EOS-05 will hover in sync with Earth's rotation to deliver real-time Earth observation imagery. Dubbed an eye in the sky by scientists, the spacecraft will provide strategic data to assist India in disaster management, territorial surveillance, and agricultural monitoring nationwide.
