The Indian Space Research Organisation is planning to phase out manufacturing launch vehicles and routine satellites to focus entirely on advanced R&D, scientific missions, and specialised infrastructure. Speaking at the Business Today summit, IN-SPACe Chairman Pawan Goenka confirmed that private players and public-sector undertakings will take over commercial manufacturing and operations. The technology transition has begun with the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle being transferred to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. IN-SPACe is also inviting private companies to manage the end-to-end production, operation, and commercialisation of the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 and PSLV rockets.
