Reliance Industries-backed Jio Platforms made its stock market debut on Wednesday, listing at ₹1,358 per share on the NSE—a 21% premium over its issue price of ₹1,119. The listing catapulted the telecom and digital giant’s market capitalisation to approximately ₹12.5 lakh crore, establishing it as India’s second-largest listed firm by valuation. The company’s ₹30,213 crore initial public offering, India’s largest to date, was subscribed 22.19 times, driven by qualified institutional buyers bidding 70.55 times their quota. Jio Platforms plans to allocate ₹27,500 crore from the net proceeds to prepay borrowings of its telecom subsidiary Reliance Jio Infocomm.
