Non-profit organization KADAM India, supported by Tata Trusts, organized the two-day 'Colours of MAATI' showcase at heritage venue Sabha in Bengaluru. The exhibition highlighted the Mithila Art Artisan Transformative Initiative, an artisan incubation program run by The Crafts School. The initiative works with women artisans across Bihar's Madhubani and Darbhanga districts, helping them integrate traditional Mithila painting techniques with contemporary design aesthetics and sustainable materials. The project aims to build viable, long-term commercial livelihoods for rural craftswomen by connecting their handmade cultural products directly with urban consumer and design markets.
