Karnataka is actively expanding its technology ecosystem beyond Bengaluru to leverage regional talent and reduce urban congestion, according to IT Minister Priyank Kharge at TechSparks. Through the state’s Beyond Bengaluru Mission, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities are generating significant IT exports, with Mysuru contributing around ₹4,000 crore, Mangaluru ₹3,500 crore, and the Hubballi-Belagavi-Dharwad cluster ₹3,000 crore. Kharge highlighted the growth of global capability centres, precision manufacturing units including an Apple supply chain partner in Belagavi, and dedicated entrepreneurship initiatives supporting regional startup acquisitions across semiconductors, biotech, and agritech sectors.
