Karnataka Partners With ElevenLabs to Deploy Voice AI for Citizen Services

The Karnataka government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with voice AI startup ElevenLabs via the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society. The partnership focuses on three strategic pillars: establishing a platform-agnostic voice AI safety framework, deploying voice restoration tools for individuals with speech impairments, and integrating voice AI into public governance systems. State IT Minister Priyank Kharge stated the initiative will explore accessible citizen services while building necessary safeguards against audio deepfakes and misuse. ElevenLabs will contribute domain expertise to assist Karnataka in refining its state-wide Responsible AI regulatory framework.
