Kochi Robotics Startup EyeROV Expands Underwater Inspection Capabilities

Kochi-headquartered marine robotics company EyeROV has developed underwater robots to inspect submerged critical infrastructure where human divers face physical limitations. Founded by Johns T Mathai and Kannappa Palaniappan P, the deeptech startup has completed over 150 inspection projects across more than 80 client engagements. EyeROV previously raised a ₹13 crore pre-Series A round in February 2026, co-led by AWE Funds and Unicorn India Ventures, bringing total capital raised to over $2 million alongside backing from GAIL. The startup also secured a major ₹47 crore contract from the Indian Navy in September 2025.
