Chennai-headquartered pharmaceutical formulations firm Linux Laboratories has raised $70 million in equity funding from ChrysCapital and Tata Capital Healthcare Fund III. The deal includes primary capital infusion and a secondary share purchase, granting ChrysCapital a significant minority stake while providing Tata Capital Healthcare Fund II an exit at approximately 4x returns. Founded in 2007 by S Ananda Kumar, Linux specializes in central nervous system therapies alongside dermatology and cardio-diabetics. The company plans to deploy the capital to expand into adjacent therapeutic areas, acquire domestic pharmaceutical brands, and enhance manufacturing and research capabilities.
