LOHUM Commences Global Lithium Mining Operations With Zimbabwe Concession

Noida-based battery materials producer LOHUM announced the dispatch of its first lithium ore consignment from Zimbabwe's Matabeleland South Province, claiming to be the first Indian firm with global lithium extraction operations. The company holds mining concessions spanning ten spodumene-bearing blocks covering 1,100 hectares, with options for 90 additional blocks. LOHUM targets producing 30,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate annually within two to three years while developing local concentration capacity. Founded in 2018 by Rajat Verma, LOHUM has raised over $120 million to date, backed by investors including Singularity, Vyoman India, and VenturEast.
