Ravi Uppal, the 46-year-old co-promoter of the illicit Mahadev online betting platform, has been arrested by authorities in Dubai following an Interpol Red Notice issued at the request of Indian law enforcement. The Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate are now initiating formal extradition proceedings to bring him to India. Uppal's detention follows the recent extradition of fellow co-promoter Saurabh Chandrakar from Oman. The Enforcement Directorate previously filed a chargesheet in October 2023, alleging that the platform orchestrated an extensive cross-border franchise network facilitating unlawful betting and money laundering.
