Bengaluru-based semiconductor metrology startup Makr Microsystems has raised Rs 10.2 crore in a seed funding round led by frontier-tech investor Bluehill VC, with participation from Artha Venture Fund. Founded by Ashwin Lal, Makr develops nanoscale 3D subsurface metrology technology to inspect and measure hidden internal defects in semiconductor chips without causing damage. The startup’s proprietary solution integrates Acoustic Atomic Force Microscopy, optical tomography, and advanced data analytics. Makr plans to use the fresh funds to accelerate core technology development, expand customer validation, and commercialise inspection equipment for advanced packaging and 3D chiplet manufacturing architectures.
