Meta has begun testing a full-screen, Reels-centric video feed for Facebook users in India, prioritizing short-form video directly upon launching the mobile application. Under the experimental layout, selected Indian users open straight into an immersive video player, while the traditional chronological feed shifts to a secondary tab with opt-out settings available. Facebook head Tom Alison noted that the redesign responds to growing consumer demand for video discovery, creator engagement, and social commerce. Meta chose India to pilot the feature prior to any US launch, leveraging its domestic base exceeding one billion active users.
