Microsoft has announced a voluntary exit programme for eligible employees across India, the US, the UK, and Canada. The initiative covers staff at job level 70 and below in participating teams, giving eligible Indian workers until December 1 to accept the package. Microsoft employs approximately 23,000 people in India out of roughly 60,000 globally eligible workers. The voluntary severance package includes one month of base salary per completed year of service, healthcare coverage, and transition support. Microsoft reaffirmed its commitment to invest $20.5 billion into India’s AI and technology ecosystem between 2025 and 2029.
