Industry body Nasscom has submitted a representation to the Ministry of Finance requesting a deferment of revised GST rules for ecommerce delivery services until January 2027. Notified on October 27 with an enforcement date of November 1, the updated rules introduce a 5% GST rate without input tax credit on specified deliveries. Nasscom highlighted that platforms require significant transition time to reconfigure ERP systems, modify invoicing pipelines, and align accounting and compliance protocols. The association has urged the government to hold formal stakeholder consultations with ecommerce marketplaces and logistics providers to prevent operational disruption.
