The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has summoned Meta India's Managing Director for a second hearing regarding allegations of Child Sexual Exploitative and Abuse Material ads on Instagram. The inquiry follows a BBC Eye investigation from July, which prompted regulatory scrutiny over Meta's moderation standards in India. Following continuous pressure from the commission, Meta has updated its reporting protocols. The social media giant has now begun routing child safety violations directly to the Ministry of Home Affairs' Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, bypassing the previous reliance on the US-based NCMEC.
