Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata has challenged the board resolution reappointing N Chandrasekaran as Tata Sons chairman beyond February 2027. Writing to company secretary Suprakash Mukhopadhyay, Noel contended that the reappointment passed at the September 17 board meeting was void because it was taken out of turn and omitted from the official agenda. While Noel opposed the resolution, fellow Tata Trusts nominee Venu Srinivasan voted in favor alongside board directors Anita George, Harish Manwani, and Saurabh Agarwal. Under Tata Sons' Articles of Association, affirmative votes from Trusts nominees are mandatory for passage.
