NPCI to Enable Portability of UPI AutoPay Mandates Across Apps

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is set to introduce interoperability for UPI AutoPay, allowing users to port recurring payment mandates seamlessly across different UPI apps. Rather than cancelling and recreating mandates for subscriptions, SIPs, insurance premiums, or loan EMIs, users will be able to transfer them directly without altering the underlying bank account. Merchants can also migrate recurring billing across payment gateways without customer re-registration. The feature, expected to be unveiled at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, will likely benefit emerging apps like super.money, FamApp, and Navi.
