Global IT services giant NTT DATA is exploring plans to expand its operational footprint across Karnataka’s coastal cities of Mangaluru and Udupi. Company leadership discussed the expansion roadmap during a high-level meeting with Karnataka IT and BT Minister Priyank Kharge on November 2, 2026. The move aligns with the state’s ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ initiative, which seeks to develop sustainable regional technology clusters, cloud infrastructure, and data centres outside the capital city. NTT DATA, which recently acquired local firms Niveus Solutions and WinWire, highlighted the availability of skilled engineering talent as a primary driver for coastal expansion.
