Mumbai-based private equity firm One Planet Partners has partnered with Japan's Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank to launch a ₹3,000 crore maiden fund. The Japanese institution made an equity investment in One Planet and anchored the fund. Founded in 2024 by Mukund Rajan, Bobby Pauly, Mrinalini Mirchandani, and Sheetal Thakkar, the firm will invest ₹100 crore to ₹500 crore in mid-market Indian enterprises across energy transition, mobility, and manufacturing. It has already backed electric mobility firm Yulu in its $93 million Series C round.
