PhonePe and Visa Partner to Launch Cardless Payment Solutions

Fintech major PhonePe has partnered with Visa to roll out three cardless payment features: Tap to Pay, Cross Border Scan to Pay, and Smart Accept. Unveiled at the Global Fintech Fest 2026, the collaboration enables Android users to tokenise Visa cards for contactless POS payments starting September 9, 2026. Cross Border Scan to Pay allows users to scan Visa-backed QR codes across 14 international markets, including Singapore, Japan, and Thailand. Meanwhile, Smart Accept lets small merchants accept card payments directly on smartphones without dedicated POS hardware by using NFC.
