Fintech major PhonePe has rebranded its homegrown Android marketplace Indus Appstore to PhonePe Appstore as it branches into digital goods and monetization services. The platform is currently pre-installed on over 200 million devices via OEM partnerships, with top adoption in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Bihar. Alongside hosting apps such as ChatGPT and Duolingo, the storefront will now sell gaming currencies, gift cards, and digital top-ups powered by PhonePe's payment stack. PhonePe also launched phonepeappstore.com, a webstore enabling users to buy digital goods via browsers without downloading dedicated mobile applications.
