Edtech unicorn PhysicsWallah's wholly owned NBFC arm, FinZ Finance, has agreed to sell its ₹95.79 crore student loan portfolio to RBI-registered education lender Auxilo Finserve. The deed of assignment was signed on October 3, with the transition of borrowers expected to conclude within 60 days. The move marks PhysicsWallah's exit from direct balance-sheet lending, a strategy it reversed just months after approving a ₹120 crore infusion into FinZ. Going forward, the edtech firm will facilitate student loans exclusively through third-party NBFC partnerships to mitigate balance-sheet and credit risk.
