PM Modi Urges Global Framework To Combat Cyber Fraud

Speaking at the India Mobile Congress 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged global technology companies, telecom operators, and financial institutions to build a unified framework to counter cyber fraud and deepfakes. Modi called upon the GSM Association and international regulators to establish preventive mechanisms that stop digital payment scams across borders. Between FY22 and FY26, Indian citizens lost ₹3,588.2 crore across over 5.83 lakh digital payment fraud cases. Modi offered India's regulatory and technical expertise to assist international bodies in securing telecom networks.
