Bengaluru-based deeptech startup Pramatra Space has completed the third tape-out of its proprietary quantum key distribution (QKD) chip and filed its final patent. Founded in 2023 by CEO Richa Hukumchand, the 11-member startup develops chip-based quantum security solutions for satellite and terrestrial networks. Pramatra is testing its latest chips and expects evaluation results within weeks while engaging with defence and financial organisations. The startup integrates QKD hardware encryption with post-quantum cryptography algorithms to provide hybrid security architectures against future quantum computing threats, aiming to close its seed funding round by late 2026.
