Pune Police has registered an FIR against Rapido parent Roppen Transportation Services Pvt Ltd for running bike-taxi operations without valid licences or regulatory approvals. Filed at Vishrantwadi police station, the FIR alleges the startup used non-transport two-wheelers for paid passenger rides. The breach was detected when an RTO inspector booked a ride via Rapido during an enforcement drive. This follows Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi ordering Rapido to suspend operations until acquiring an e-bike aggregator licence, alongside mandating cab aggregators to submit fare data following driver union protests.
