Pune Police Urge Google, Apple to Delist Rapido App

Pune Police has formally written to Google and Apple requesting the removal of Rapido’s app from their app stores over alleged unauthorized bike taxi operations. The action follows an FIR filed against parent company Roppen Transportation Services at Vishrantwadi police station after an RTO enforcement drive found rides being operated on private, non-transport two-wheelers. District collector Jitendra Dudi had earlier instructed Rapido to suspend bike taxi services until obtaining an e-bike aggregator license. Rapido’s aggregator license application currently remains pending with the transport department.
