Razorpay Launches Apple Pay Support for Indian Online and In-Store Merchants

Fintech major Razorpay has rolled out Apple Pay integration for online and in-store payments in India. The service enables users to complete transactions using Face ID, Touch ID, or passcodes instead of typing card details or entering SMS OTPs. Initial merchant partners include Zepto, ixigo, IndiGo, Tata 1mg, and JioMart. The rollout aligns with the Reserve Bank of India’s alternative authentication framework that took effect in April 2026. Apple Pay uses tokenized credentials to protect card information during transactions, offering enhanced fraud protection and reducing cart abandonment for online businesses.
