Rohit Sharma Backs Gaming Studio LightFury Ahead of eCricket Launch

Former Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has invested an undisclosed amount in Bengaluru-based gaming studio LightFury Games. Sharma also joins the title as an officially licensed in-game player. He becomes the eighth marquee cricketer backing the startup, alongside MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Tilak Varma, and Sai Sudharsan. The investment precedes the September 2026 closed beta trial of its upcoming mobile title, eCricket, which has garnered over 300,000 pre-registrations and features commentary by Navjot Singh Sidhu alongside 700 licensed international cricketers.
