Hyderabad-based gaming startup Metasports Interactive, the creator of cricket strategy game Hitwicket, has raised strategic funding from cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar also joins as brand ambassador and will feature in-game. Existing investors include Prime Venture Partners, Horizon Ventures, and Harsha Bhogle. The capital follows a $20 million non-dilutive user acquisition facility secured from London-based Metica in April. Hitwicket boasts over 20 million users across 120 countries, with 97% of revenue driven by in-app purchases. The company plans to deploy the support to target 100 million downloads within three years.
