Pune and Mumbai-based autonomous maritime technology startup Sagar Defence Engineering has developed unmanned surface vessels and aerial platforms designed for security patrols and ocean surveillance. Founded in 2015 by Captain Nikunj Parashar and Mridul Babbar, the deeptech venture has raised over $30.1 million in funding from prominent institutional investors, including Skegen, ONGC, and IDBI Capital. Sagar Defence generates approximately $4.68 million in revenue for the financial year ended March 2024. Its core technological offerings include unmanned marine craft, uncrewed aerial vehicles, and the proprietary Genesis autonomous navigation system built to handle critical defense and commercial maritime operations.
