Sandhya Devanathan Leaves Meta To Join OpenAI In Regional Leadership Role

Sandhya Devanathan has stepped down as Meta’s vice president for India and Southeast Asia after nearly a decade at the social media giant to join OpenAI. At the ChatGPT creator, Devanathan will oversee consumer growth, enterprise adoption, strategic partnerships, regulatory engagement, and operational expansion across Southeast Asia and Australia. She will be based in Singapore and report to Kiran Mani, OpenAI’s managing director for the Asia-Pacific region. Following her departure, Meta’s India managing director Arun Srinivas will report directly to Benjamin Joe, Meta’s vice president for the Asia-Pacific region.
