SBI Mutual Fund has increased its stake in food delivery and quick commerce major Swiggy to 5.12% after purchasing an additional 1.18 crore shares for approximately Rs 300 crore via open-market transactions. The acquisition raised its total holding to 14.15 crore shares, crossing the 5% regulatory disclosure threshold mandated by SEBI. The move follows Swiggy shareholders approving a 49.5% cap on aggregate foreign ownership to transition into an Indian-owned and controlled company. In Q1 FY27, Swiggy reported a 7% year-on-year increase in revenue to Rs 6,812 crore while narrowing net losses by 34%.
