Hyderabad-based agritech startup Segritech has developed compact optical sorting machines to automate fruit and vegetable grading at farm gates and mandis. Founded in 2022 by Hetendra Singh, Sri Kusulu Devalla, and Vijay Pratap Singh, the company offers two models: Mini Sort (Rs 10 lakh) and Fast Sort (Rs 20 lakh). The machines use CMOS, RGB, near-infrared, and ultraviolet imaging alongside custom computer vision and deep learning models to detect fungal marks, sunspots, and skin defects. The solution grades crops like pomegranates, apples, and mangoes, reducing post-harvest losses and improving farmers' earnings.
