Sneaker Brand Comet to Raise $10.2M Series B Led by Verlinvest

Bengaluru-based lifestyle sneaker startup Comet is raising Rs 98.75 crore ($10.2 million) in a Series B round led by Belgian private equity firm Verlinvest. Verlinvest will invest Rs 61.73 crore, while existing backers Elevation Capital and Nexus Venture Partners will commit Rs 17.90 crore each. Other angel participants include Urban Company co-founder Abhiraj Singh Bhal, Bhaane Retail, and Ajit Mohan. The transaction values Comet at approximately Rs 535 crore ($56 million), marking a 3.2X increase over its Series A valuation in July 2024. Founded in 2023 by Utkarsh Gupta and Dishant Daryani, Comet will deploy the fresh funds toward working capital, expansion, and capital expenditure.
