Snowflake Launches Cortex AI Gateway and Business Ontology for Enterprise AI Agents

Snowflake has launched Business Ontology and Cortex AI Gateway within its Horizon Catalog to help enterprises deploy governed AI agents across production workflows. Announced at Snowflake Expedition 2026 on November 4, the features link AI agents to validated business metric definitions and provide centralized control for managing model access, authentication, and tool execution. Cortex AI Gateway also includes dynamic model routing, cost governance, observability tracking, and guardrails against prompt injection and jailbreaks.
