Japanese tech investor SoftBank has offloaded 8 crore equity shares in ecommerce unicorn Meesho, representing a 1.7% stake, for ₹1,650.40 crore through block deals on the NSE. The shares were sold at ₹206.30 apiece at a modest discount. Franklin Templeton emerged as the largest buyer, picking up 96.7 lakh shares, followed by Societe Generale, Fidelity, Manulife, Goldman Sachs, and sovereign wealth funds from Kuwait, Oman, and Norway. Following the transaction, SoftBank's holding in Meesho decreased from 8.6%. The divestment follows SoftBank's recent stake reductions across Indian tech companies, including Lenskart and Delhivery.
