Indian overseas investment platform Stockal faces severe backlash after nearly 30 investors alleged their US portfolios were liquidated without consent on October 15. Blue-chip holdings, including Apple, Amazon, Tesla, and Nvidia, were allegedly sold off and replaced with shares of thinly traded Nasdaq-listed Chinese microcap Zhibao Technology. One investor reported losing $3.1 million (₹29 crore) across rapid transactions, with total estimated investor losses reportedly exceeding ₹100 crore. An FIR has been registered in Bengaluru as scrutiny falls on Stockal, parent company Borderless Investing, and US brokerage partner DriveWealth over system security and unauthorized access.
