Indian filmmaker Abhik Banerjee and Tamasha Studios secured second place at the Astana AI Film Festival in Kazakhstan for their AI-generated film Sitara, winning a cash prize of $200,000. Created in collaboration with Rollsound Studios, the project competed against 8,067 entries from 125 countries, reaching the final shortlist of 25 films. Founded by Mithilesh Bhagat, Tamasha Studios develops AI-driven storytelling across movies, web series, micro-dramas, and animation. The studio aims to blend Indian cultural narratives with artificial intelligence, live-action footage, and visual effects to produce scalable content for global audiences.
