Tamil Nadu Launches Rs 50 Crore Deep-Tech and AI Innovation Fund

The Tamil Nadu government has announced a comprehensive suite of initiatives to position the state as a national leader in deep-tech and artificial intelligence. State Minister Kumar R presented the Vetri Tamil Nadu Deep-Tech Innovation Fund, launched via the iTNT Hub with an initial corpus of Rs 50 crore. The fund supports startups, PhD scholars, and researchers working on AI/ML, small and large language models, advanced materials, semiconductors, and robotics, with 25% earmarked for SC/ST founders. Tamil Nadu also outlined plans for an AI Technology City, including specialized testing labs and an AI university.
