Nicolas Sauvage, Founder and President of TDK Ventures, highlighted the rapid growth of Indian deeptech at TechSparks 2026. He noted that India’s top scientific talent is increasingly opting to build startups domestically rather than moving to US corporate labs. India has become TDK Ventures' second-largest investment market globally. The country currently hosts over 4,200 deeptech startups, which collectively secured $2.3 billion in funding in 2025, marking a 37% year-on-year increase. Sauvage emphasized that Indian founders possess distinct competitive advantages in frontier sectors like spacetech alongside the US and China.
