Ten Indians and Indian-Origin Leaders Feature in TIME100 AI 2026 List

TIME has unveiled its 2026 TIME100 AI list, featuring ten Indian and Indian-origin figures shaping foundational AI, enterprise technology, semiconductors, and governance. The honorees include Sarvam AI co-founder Vivek Raghavan, Adalat AI co-founder Utkarsh Saxena, IBM Chairman Arvind Krishna, Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra, and Caltech professor Anima Anandkumar. TIME highlighted Raghavan's push for sovereign artificial intelligence in India to avoid exporting local data while importing foreign intelligence. Sarvam AI previously released 30-billion and 105-billion parameter open-weight models, alongside Sarvam Vision, a visual language model supporting 22 Indian languages, while completing its $300 million funding round.
