Indian action institute The/Nudge has received a $15 million funding commitment from Google's philanthropic arm, Google.org, to develop artificial intelligence tools for micro, small, and medium enterprises. The initiative aims to enhance formal credit access, market reach, and regulatory compliance for India’s 90 million small businesses that employ over 345 million people. As part of the project, The/Nudge will launch an open call for proposals for practical solutions and build a multilingual, voice-led training platform for Tier III and IV towns. Google India Country Manager Preeti Lobana highlighted AI’s role as an economic multiplier.
