Uber Technologies is cutting approximately 10% of its global workforce, impacting an estimated 3,400 employees across multiple regions, including India. In an internal memo to staff, CEO Dara Khosrowshahi explained that the organisational overhaul aims to eliminate management layers, simplify team structures, and refine the company's global footprint. Uber employed around 34,000 workers globally as of December 2025. An Uber India spokesperson confirmed that local employees would be impacted by the layoffs, while reiterating that the ride-hailing giant remains committed to India and will continue strengthening its regional operations across the Asia-Pacific market.
