Unacademy cofounders Gaurav Munjal and Roman Saini are launching Longshot Capital, a ₹700 crore Category II Alternative Investment Fund dedicated to AI and deeptech startups. The fund has secured ₹250 crore to ₹300 crore in early commitments and aims for a first close in January 2027. Saini will lead the firm full-time as general partner alongside Munjal. Longshot Capital plans to invest $500,000 to $1.5 million in 25 to 28 seed and pre-Series A startups across robotics, space, defence, and AI over a 10 to 11-year fund lifecycle.
