upGrad co-founder Mayank Kumar has teamed up with former colleague Ayush Mathur to launch BorderPlus, a vertically integrated talent mobility startup founded in 2025. The platform aims to bridge the global workforce shortage in aging economies like Germany and Japan by training and placing Indian blue-collar and healthcare talent abroad. BorderPlus manages end-to-end relocation, including language education, vocational skills training, visa processing, documentation, and employer matching. The venture addresses domestic monetization bottlenecks by targeting high-demand overseas markets facing severe replacement-rate deficits in sectors such as nursing and skilled caregiving.
