Upstox Launches US Stock and ETF Investing via GIFT City

Online stockbroking platform Upstox has launched US stock investing for Indian users following regulatory approval from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). The new service allows retail investors to trade over 8,000 US-listed equities and 2,000 exchange-traded funds, including Apple, Tesla, and Alphabet, through fractional investing starting at $1. Operating under the Reserve Bank of India’s Liberalised Remittance Scheme through the GIFT City framework, trades are managed via Upstox Securities' IFSC unit. Users can fund accounts in Indian rupees with automated conversion to US dollars and place after-market orders outside standard US trading hours.
